Visionary Underground At the forefront of dancefloor-centric Asian music, the VU’s sound is built on the experienced shoulders of DJ Feelfree and the visual expertise of VJ Coco, with collaborations from the likes of Dr Das and Chandrasonic (Asian Dub Foundation), MC Navigator, TC Izlam (Hip-Step/Zulu Nation). Aref Durvesh, Ges-E & Sonia Mehta. With breaks remixes of Nitin Sawhney and Asian Dub Foundation (ft. Sinead O'Connor) under their belts they have played at festivals in the UK to audiences of over 100,000. Following their appearance on BBC2’s “Malai” programme (where they performed the songs “Ektaa & Elevate”), the track “Militant 24” has been chosen to be the title track on Network East’s replacement show Desi DNA due to air for 6 weeks from Thurs 11th March 04 (BBC2). Listen for yourselves - their album is available on the website to listen to, alongside additional FREE MP3 downloads! Representing the crew this time… Producer/DJ FeelFree and VJ Coco.
For those of you who where there last year for
the VU/Dhamaal mash up - You know the score - it's going to be mental! |

DJ Dragonfly DJ Dragonfly is the creator of numerous
monthly and annual West Coast gatherings . His events consistently reflect a
personal mission statement of offering dance and gatherings as a celebration of
self, spirit and community. Fusing that concept to the masses is his
self-defined genre of Gaiatronic Grooves a signature rough tumble mix combining
funky thumpin' breaks, bangin' tribal house spiced with a decidedly global
imprint. Multiple sound sources including electronic hand percussion and
didgeridoo ensure the delivery of below-the-belt basslines and smacked-up by
beats! His dancefloor adventures are quite possibly the outgrowth of the
hedonistic lost years where he squandered his youth, money and mind while
aimlessly globetrotting through some 37 countries. |
