Corporate Sponsor Information <CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO> Individual Benefactor Information <CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO> Dear Friends & Supporters Over the last 7 years the Dhamaal crew has created cutting edge music, video, art and events that celebrate the cultural diversity of the Bay Area and beyond. We are building on the success of the last year's Dhamaal Sights and Sounds Festival by branching out nationally with shows in New York and San Diego as well as showcasing talent from India, the UK, Vancouver & NYC. This year's roster adds influences from Africa, India, Arabia, and Jamaica. Even Mayor Gavin Newsom weighed in last year by declaring the March 4th, the opening night of Festival, "The Dhamaal Sights & Sounds Day!" Some of the highlights of the festival include maestros G.S. Sachdev (bansuri flute) and Swapan Chauduri (tabla) at the prestigious Yerba Buena Center for the Arts on the Sunday 26th of March, as well as local superstar Cheb i Sabbah, internationally renowned tabla virtuoso, drummer, & producer Karsh Kale's (his Album Release Party), and Dhamaal headline the massive WORLDLY show at super club 1015 Folsom on Friday, March 24th and NY's Sub Swara showcase features Asian underground pioneer, State of Bengal and BBC Radio 1 DJs Bobby & Nihal!. Dhamaal has a deep history of community involvement, working to raise money for various non-profits locally and internationally, including Narika, an organization serving South Asian women impacted by domestic abuse, for fighting the AIDS crisis in Africa and for the Breast Cancer Research Fund. This year we will donate a percentage of all event proceeds toward the the Earthquake Relief Efforts in S. Asia and the Human Crisis in Darfur, Africa. The Dhamaal Sights & Sounds Festival is a fiscally sponsored project of Kearny Street Workshop 501(c)(3). With our internationally acclaimed line-up of artists, wide community support, and solid reputation we will attract over 5000 people from the greater Bay Area, New York and beyond to the festival. Our diverse fan base spans students to well-established professionals, and draws from many different Bay Area ethnic communities and age groups. The Festival offers a chance for you to be a part of something rich and support the arts and culture of an ancient heritage as well as meet your philanthropic goals. We appreciate all
the support in helping make this festival possible and to enhance the
cultural richness of our community. Thank you very much for
your consideration and support! - One full festival
